Match report On a warm and sunny day Old Leightonians skipper Samuels won the toss and inserted the Incogniti. Veteran openers Dugdale and Furness got off to a slow start on a pitch that was slow with unusual bounce due the dryness of the pitch. it was like a minefield. Bowry the inform batsman with two previous centuries to his name joined Mason. Shashank replaced Samuels and in his second over had Bowry LBW for 13 runs, after his first three balls all despatched to the boundary. The decision was very dubious one, triggered by the Sergeant Major Umpire who wanted to make a name for himself. The score had moved to 39 for 3 in 12 overs. Shrayaan who replaced Gutierrez lost his wicket to Whyte caught by wicket keeper Sims for 5 runs. the score 62 for 6 in the 20 overs. Vinden next in was bowled by Whyte for 2 runs the score 64 for 7 in 22 overs. Maylon was caught by Short of the bowling of Whyte for 22 runs, the score 67 for 8 in 23 overs

Pye-Smith was caught and bowled by Bowry without scoring, 67 for 9 in 24 overs. Samuels and R Price began to flourish as the Incogniti had the close fielders around the bat trying to get last wicket. Samuels reached fifty and R Price at the other end batted steadily. Ahmed replaced Bowry and removed the troublesome Samuels for a good 62 runs, the score 171 all out in 39.5overs.

A good game for the Incogniti after some late cry-offs, we assembled a good side. The Leighton Park school pitch was not up to its usual high standard. it was very dry and lacking attention and water, hence the unusual bounce.

My thanks to Claire for scoring and for Gordon for umpiring on the day, we all retreated to the "Black Boy Pub" for a well earned drink on a fine day.
