Match report This is a match report that nobody wanted to write, so I will make it short and sweet;-
Skipper Bowry won the toss and did what most sides visiting a school would do and batted first.
BUT and a big BUT, Sunny had obviously been living in his basement for the previous month and not noticed that it had been raining every day of it. We were lucky to be playing and to have a full side (well nearly) was an achievement with many cricketers having taken up water polo.
Admittedly the wicket ‘looked good’ and even dry, the sun was out and there was a drying breeze BUT underneath that innocent looking surface were Gremlins galore awaiting anyone foolish enough to bat before lunch and before allowing another 2-3 hours of sun to dry it out.
Not one Incog deserves a mention from this match and the scorecard figures say it all.
Not taking anything away from the way from all the school bowlers who exploited the conditions superbly with the support of a well drilled fielding side that took 3 good slip catches.
St Pauls have hammered us a few times over the last few years so its about time to decide to arrive there with a match winning side with a match winning attitude so………… ?
