Match report Arriving at a parched Windsor Oval and finding a dry wicket, skipper Pidgeon won the toss and batted. The experienced looking Incogs 9 were bolstered by guest Bronwell Williams from Cape Town, and the young Khan - pilfered from the Boys' team to push us up to 10.

A sharp opening spell by the Boys' skipper was assisted by variable bounce and this accounted for Adrian Beecroft who was unlucky to middle one straight to point. This brought together Williams and Tim Dixon Dale who put together a fast scoring and running partnership of 130 with delightful strokeplay.

Jeremy Richardson arrived at the crease and as is so often the way after a long wait, departed quickly - scant reward for stepping in at the last minute and dashing from the City.

Some late slogging by the skipper and continued exemplary batting from the Southern Hemisphere pushed Incogs to a healthy 216.

The boys started their run chase well against some steady bowling from Mike Leighton and Colin Bedford. The introduction of the sub from the Boys' team was greeted with glee by the home team who expected to fill their boots. In actuality the young man settled down into an impressive spell of inswing bowling, capably coached by wickey Furness! In picking up 4 wickets and opening up the tail, the skipper selflessly stepped in to air the leggies for the first time in many a season. Three wickets were purchased and the boys still gamely went after the total. In the end we couldn't prise the last wicket and the game ended in a satisfying draw.
